(4/3/2024) MARTIAL ARTS MASTERS RETURN HOME FROM S. KOREA WITH A LIFETIME MILESTONE
Our journey to South Korea, accompanied by two cherished students, was a resounding success, filled with unforgettable moments. Beyond our primary goal of reconnecting with the Hapkido and Taekwondo networks, we also enjoyed visiting my dear friends in Busan, Daejeon, Gochang, Seoul, and Gwacheon, fostering personal connections that enriched our experience.
The highlight of our trip was the inauguration of the president and officers of Heuk Choo Kwan America, which also included rank promotion ceremonies. These significant events, held in Daejeon, the headquarters of the World Heuk Choo Kwan Federation, and Seoul, the headquarters of the World Taekwondo Jidokwan Federation, marked the culmination of our journey.
One of the most memorable moments of our trip was our visit to Kukkiwon, the esteemed World Taekwondo Headquarters. Here, we had the honor of meeting President Dong Sup Lee, Head Coach Seung Hyeon Nam, and the renowned Kukkiwon demo team, an experience that will be etched in our memories forever.
It's now official that Lee Brothers of Burlington is designated as the headquarters for Heuk Choo Kwan America, with Grandmaster Sangho (Sean) Lee serving as the president, Grandmaster Tony Merafuentes as the Secretary-General, and Master Marty Sullivan as the Global Ambassador.
Lastly, I am immensely proud to announce the recent promotions of the following masters to their new ranks.
· Tony Merafuentes to 7th Dan Grandmaster from 6th Dan
· Marty Sullivan to 6th Dan Master from 5th Dan
· Edy Mendez to 6th Dan Master from 5th Dan
· Alina Hughes to 5th Dan Master from 4th Dan
· Vince Tolotta to 5th Dan Master from 4th Dan
· William W. Lee to 5th Dan Master from 4th Dan
We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who have consistently supported us. Your unwavering belief in our mission has been instrumental in our success. We pledge to continue delivering outstanding quality programs that reflect the trust you have placed in us. ~ Grandmaster Sangho (Sean) Lee
